Adult Volunteers

18+? You can get involved in Scouting too!

Join the District or one of our Scout Groups as an Adult Leader, Occasional Helper or Trustee.

Put your skills to use, learn new ones and play an active role in your local community. Volunteering is easier than you think. With full support and training, you can volunteer on a flexible basis. Give young people the skills they need to succeed in life and discover how being part of the Scouting family can be as rewarding for you as it is for them.

All our Groups and Sections are always looking for enthusiastic adults to join our leadership team. Contact our Groups or District Officials for more information.

What are the benefits of becoming a leader?

As well as getting involved in a wide range of activities and events that the group provides, being part of a great team and developing key skills for life in our young people, being a leader has a range of other benefits.

Free DBS check

All adults volunteering within Scouting are required to undergo a DBS (Disclosure and barring service) check. We will process this for you for free!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
