First Aid Training Course
Doing things safely is fundamental to everything we do in Scouts, and completing the first aid training – also known as the First Response course – is a key part in that.
This course aims to cover the skills and knowledge necessary to enable volunteers to manage an incident and provide basic first aid. Our first response programme has been developed in collaboration with Girlguiding, with a common syllabus, resources and acceptance between the two organisations.
This is a 1 day face to face training course with 12 places per session.
The course fulfils modules 10a and 10b of the Scout Assocation’s training and covers all elements of Scouting ‘First Response’.
After completion, you will receive a ‘1 day Emergency First Aid at Work’ certificate.
If this training is required for your role, you are asked complete it in within your first three years of volunteering, and to renew it every three years. Please check with your line manager when your first aid training is due to expire.
If you already have a valid first aid certificate through your work or other training course, please email a copy of your certificate to Juliet Madien – District Training Administrator, who will update your record.
