Join the paddle adventures on the water…

The grand unveiling of the Donald Bean, DB1, Kayak Centre, Summer 2023.

The District has an amazing water activity and paddle sports equipment and facility.

Based Stafford Boat Club, the Donald Bean DB1 Kayak Centre, houses a vast range of paddle equipment including a variety of Kayaks and Canoes ready for group sessions, as well as a full range of buoyancy aids and helmets for all ages and sizes. The centre has easy access to the canal with a stepped landing point and changing facilities inside.

The District Water Team comprises of experienced skills instructors with expertise and permits to lead sessions on the water with Cubs, Scouts and Explorers. The team run taster sessions for sections in the District on Wednesday evenings during the spring and summer, on the canal at the Boat Club – the team will release the dates to Sections in the District in the early spring.

All equipment and facilities are available to hire, including two boat trailers for transport.


Donald Bean Fund Application Form

Funding is available to members of Stafford District Scouts for Kayaking, Canoeing and Paddleboarding activities and adult training.

Applications will be considered by the District’s Trustee Board and should be submitted before the 1st April. One application per year, up to a maximum of £250.
