A busy day for the Paddlesports Team…

The District Paddlesports team was inundated all day on the Stafford Boat Club open day last Saturday. Offering paddle experiences to young people throughout the day on the Staffs and Worcestershire canal that runs alongside the club. So many young people took up the opportunity to paddle in a canoe or kayak, learning paddle strokes to move and steer the boats, while enjoying the fantastic weather. The team were pleased to be able to support the boat club at their open day. 🛶

Stafford District Scouts paddlesports team have been based at the boat club since 2020 and is situated in the Donald Bean 1 Kayak centre that houses their suite of kayaks and water equipment. The team offers paddling opportunities to Cubs, Scouts and Explorers across the District, running experience taster sessions during the spring and summer, as well as offering courses for Scouters to achieve their Paddlesports Badges.
