District Minibus

The District minibus is available for Groups and Sections to hire to transport their members to activities and events.

The vehicle has 17 seats, including the driver.

Hire Costs

  • Evening – £30
  • Day – £50
  • Weekend – £90
  • Week – £300

Please contact us to enquire about available dates, we will confirm whether the bus is available and will send you a booking form to complete as well as advise on payment.

Checklist and Information
  • Each Scout Group/Explorer Unit that uses the minibus will need a valid Scout minibus permit, which can be obtained via the Scout Website.
  • The District will not be responsible for Groups/Units that do not display the permit on the windscreen.
  • Drivers must be 25 years old and over and have held a full valid driving licence for at least two years.
  • Drivers must have a D1 code on their licence and comply with vehicle weights.
  • To tow with the minibus, divers must have a D1 E code on their licence and comply with towing criteria and weight restrictions.
  • On collection, please do a visible check around the vehicle and note any damage. Please check tyres, oil and coolant before a long journey. Any damage must be reported when the minibus is returned.
  • Please bring the vehicle back clean and tidy.
  • Bring back with a full tank of fuel, or this will result in extra charges.
  • The vehicle must only be used in the UK.
  • Lost keys will be charged for.
  • Please fill in the logbook before returning.
  • Insurance details are in the van. The roadside assistance telephone number can be found in the logbook and on the key fob.

 

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
